Azote was commissioned to assist Johan Rockström and his research team in visualizing research about the nine planetary boundaries we need to stay within to secure continued development. If we exceed these boundaries, the risk increases for large-scale, sudden, or irreversible environmental changes. The planetary boundaries framework has garnered immense interest in science, politics, and practice, and the visualization has become iconic. Our collaboration with the research group is ongoing, and a new update of the framework was presented in 2022.
